Gift Idea No. 3: Bring Back Movie and Slide Nights!

November 15, 2012

Remember when you all used to gather in the living room NOT to watch TV – but to do some other basic family ritual?

In the days before VCRS, cable, video games and other instant-entertainment on demand, the TV would sometimes  stay off after dinner – and a movie screen would be either rolled down or taken out of the closet, along with the projector for night full of films or slides.

Perhaps they were slides from a recent vacation. Or 8mm movies of your parents’ wedding.

The years have gone by. And you still have the slides and/or the films. But you have no way of showing them because you have long since given away your slide or movie projector. Or if you still have them, their bulbs have burned out and you don’t know how to replace them.

Give Priceless Photo Preservation a call.

We can easily help you  solve that dilemma.

We have a small number of working Kodak slide projectors and Bell & Howell Super 8 and 8mm Movie Projectors (and even a tripod screen!) that we will rent out to you.

As part of the rental, we will come to your house, show you how to set everything up and even give you a quick refresher course on how to operate one of these machines.

Show your children images of the grandparents, great-grandparents and even yourself that they’ve never seen. Give them some instant family history, accompanied by pictures. Or even finally get around to seeing for yourself what amazing footage is on all those mysterious film reels that you inherited.

You can also use these projectors to review these precious possessions – and decide what’s most worth preserving. We are willing to apply what you paid for renting that projector towards any conversion project that you decide to do with us. That way, you are assured of digitizing only the slides and movies that mean the most to you.

As always, if you are interested, drop us a line at  or call us at 734-219-3916. We offer pickup and drop-off service throughout southeast Michigan and northwestern Ohio. We work with photos, slides, films, videos and even family scrapbooks. We are now serving the Grand Rapids area as wel with the same servicesl.

Stay tuned for our next gift suggestion on Saturday!
